THE STORY OF ROCCHIO FAMILY ROASTERS

The Rocchio Family roasted coffee for the village of Gallo Matesa, Italy dating back to the early 1700's. When Pasquale Rocchio came to America in the early 1900s, he brought with him a strong back and his coffee-roasting and wine-making skills.

His grandson, Marco, became Pasquale's apprentice, spending summers learning the craft of roasting coffee in the family's 300 year-old traditional manner. Marco continues the family tradition today, roasting coffee over hardwood charcoal the same way as his father, grandfather and generations before them did.

BEHIND OUR COFFEE

Rocchio Family is truly direct trade. We personally visit coffee farms in Central and South America and work with the farmers to create organic, sustainable coffee while improving the health and welfare of coffee farm workers.

SPECIAL TO US

The Rocchio Family also supports the Marimba de Coban music school in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala and is currently working on a Clean Water Project for the indigenous Mayans of the same region.
