What will happen if we mix two opposites, two different worlds? What will happen if we take the best of both? We’ll get CBD coffee. The perfect partner: energetic coffee and hemp’s CBD. Two different worlds that mix to perfection in a single cup. The caffeine in coffee boosts your productivity, while the CBD helps reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. But here is the crucial thing – to get a legal and safe dosage (which is not followed by all manufacturers).
That’s why we ordered 24 different brands and compiled a list of the 8 CBD coffees. The Willie’s Remedy Hemp-Infused Medium Roast Blend Coffee took our Editor’s Choice. All coffees on the list are under 0.3% THC, meaning they are legal in all 50 states. Most of them are infused with organic hemp to ensure the highest quality product.
Beans: Nicaraguan coffee from the woman-focused SOPPEXCCA Co-Op and Colombian coffee from mission-driven co-op catalyst, Colombian Risaralda Co-Op
Grind: whole beans
Flavor: chocolate brownie and orange zest
CBD level: 250 mg
More features: organically grown hemp
This medium roast hemp-infused Nicaraguan and Colombian coffee blend is from women-focused co-ops and is Fair Trade. The hemp comes from small farmers in the United States. The CBD coffee blend helps offset the jitters of caffeine. It also balances the coffee’s flavor and provides the perfect cup.
Willie’s Remedy is a brand with a slew of wonderful products. This is the medium-roast version, while they also have a hemp-infused dark roast or light roast blend and hemp-infused green teas. This product is continuously being upgraded as they are constantly improving their roasting skills and continue to source the highest quality beans and hemp while keeping them ethical as well. This CBD coffee is a good entry point to Willie’s Remedy brand and is great for medium-roast lovers.
Why did it make our list?
We love the flavor of this coffee with chocolate and citrus. We also love that it is Fair-Trade certified and comes from the SOPPEXCCA Co-Op, which focuses on women and the Colombian Risarlda Co-Op. We didn’t experience the dreaded coffee jitters or anxiety that you so often have to sacrifice in return for energy or the flavor of coffee that you adore. This coffee is perfectly balanced and will be loved by anyone who enjoys a medium-roast blend.
What is not ideal about it?
We would prefer if this was a standard 16oz bag instead of 8oz. There are also coffees out there that have more mg of hemp per bag. It is recommended to brew in a French press or with a metal filter, but those brewing methods take away the nuanced flavors that different methods, specifically pour-over methods like using a Chemex, are prone to bringing out. Overall, this is a great choice of a hemp-infused coffee bag and a good size if you want to try it out for the first time without committing to a standard-sized bag.
Strava’s Colombian dark-roasted CBD coffee is available as whole beans or ground for you ahead of time. It is a maximum-strength CBD coffee blend with a CBD level of 20mg per serving. It is made with organic hemp extract. The coffee is sourced sustainably, and you can lower the price by getting a subscription.
Strava has a lot of different CBD coffee options. They have every roast available in either whole beans or ground. Some CBD coffee that they sell has as little as 4mg per serving, and some are even decaf. They also sell CBD coffee K-Cups. They have merchandise such as reusable bags and mugs to represent your favorite CBD coffee and CBD coffee K-Cup brand. This coffee stands out because of its high CBD levels and strong taste. Even though Strava has a lot to offer, this is one of their best products.
What are our favorite features?
Our favorite thing about this coffee is the CBD level. It's so high that it's incredibly relaxing but not high enough to make us groggy. It's convenient that you can choose whether to get your coffee ground or as whole beans. We also love that if you subscribe to the Coffee Club, you get a discount! The dark roast really packs a punch and goes down smooth. This CBD coffee is sourced sustainably, which is always important, and it's also roasted in small batches to ensure the highest quality, which certainly shines through.
What could be better?
This coffee might be a bit much for some people. The dark roast of Colombian beans is incredibly strong, and if you're extra sensitive to CBD, this CBD coffee might be overwhelming. If you like citrus or floral notes in your coffee, this isn't the coffee for you. While getting it ground makes it easier to make, when we tried the ground version, it lost a lot of its flavor. Although the coffee is sourced sustainably, it is not Fair Trade.
Flavor: Colombia – white chocolate, caramel, hazelnut; Mexico – dark chocolate, hazelnut, citrus; Ethiopia – caramel, green tea, jasmine, lemon
CBD level: 50 mg per 2 oz bag
More features: each of tree signature blends, organic Mexico / Colombia / Ethiopia, non-GMO
This is a sample pack for people who are interested in trying out the taste of different CBD coffees. Single-origin coffee means it all comes from the same farm or area of farms, so the flavor is consistent and unique. Each bag is a sample size of 2oz with 50mg of CBD per bag.
Buddha Beans is a great CBD coffee blend company. They offer coffee from many different origins, as well as exclusive blends. Their prices vary so there is something for everyone. They also offer decaf CBD coffee and CBD coffee K-Cups. This sample pack is incredible because it lets you try out different things that the brand has to offer and will help you fall in love with Buddha Beans CBD coffee.
Why are we impressed?
We really loved how fun it was to sample three different flavors, all from the same company! It is hard to know what flavors you will like or dislike, and you don't want to end up stuck with a bag full of coffee that isn't the right flavor for you. With this sample pack, we could really compare and contrast the different flavors and pick out our favorites. We made all three cups at once and had a tasting party, and we're sure you would have as much fun as we did if you did the same. These bags are the perfect size as they give you a bit of coffee but aren't a commitment.
What negatives must you be aware of?
Although the beans are ethically sourced, they are not Fair Trade. The Mexican blend is quite mellow and may not be strong enough for some coffee lovers. The CBD to coffee ratio left us feeling a little wired, and there wasn't enough CBD to completely offset the effects of the coffee. Since the trio is three small bags, there are chances that you might not like a flavor, even if you like another.
Flavor: cedar, butter, nutty undertones, and floral aroma
CBD level: 90 mg
More features: contains 0% THC, low in acidity, five times stronger
This product from Kickback Cali Rise is low-acidity, medium roast coffee. It has incredible undertones of nuts, butter, and cedar. It comes in an 8oz bag and brews 16 cups. The bag comes infused with 90mg CBD.
This is the perfect coffee for someone who loves a smooth cup. Kickback also sells lemonades and teas, but this coffee is where they really shine. They nailed the flavor notes in this CBD coffee. It is also a little low in CBD, so if you don’t want to feel too sluggish and still want a bit of a buzz after your cup of coffee, this is the bag for you.
What makes it stand out?
Kickback really perfected the flavors in this bag. It goes down smoothly and has low acid. It tastes of butter, nuts, and cedar and smells floral. We love how transparent they are about everything: you know that the coffee is washed and sun-dried and that it is from the Motozintla Region at a high elevation. It is lab-tested and approved. This creamy CBD coffee would wow anybody with its incredible taste.
Which disadvantages must you keep in mind?
We wished that this was a 16oz bag instead of an 8oz bag. There is only 90mg of CBD in the bag, and the bag yields 16 cups, which means there is only 5mg of CBD in each cup. We didn't find that that was enough to keep the jitters away. It is also unclear if the beans come full or ground, so we were surprised when we opened the bag. If you don't like medium roasts, this isn't the coffee for you. However, we don't see how anyone could deny the flavors in this bag.
More features: decaf, relaxing and calming, THC-free
This is the best decaf CBD coffee. It is made of 100% specialty-grade Arabica coffee from Colombia. It tastes smooth like brown sugar and orange, the perfect flavor combination. You can choose if you want the beans whole or ground. There is a whopping 20mg of CBD per serving.
Strava has a lot of different coffee options and even merchandise. They have different origins, roasts, and CBD levels. This product stands out because it is decaf, and therefore the full effects of the CBD can shine through. This decaf CBD coffee will give you the wonderful calming taste of coffee while completely chilling you out with the high CBD content and lack of caffeine.
What makes it special?
We loved having a cup of coffee that tasted amazing and also fully relaxed us. It was almost odd to drink something so familiar as coffee and then be completely relaxed. And just because it's decaf doesn’t mean any flavor is left behind- the smooth brown sugar and orange flavor notes go down like sugar. The price is also amazing, at less than $2 per serving. 20mg of CBD is the perfect amount because it will have you completely relaxed but isn’t so much that you will feel groggy or fall asleep.
What cons did we find?
What makes this coffee so great are also the things that people may not like about it. If you’re looking to be jolted awake, this decaf CBD coffee isn’t the right fit for you. The relaxing effects may be too strong if you are particularly sensitive to CBD or are already on a relaxing medication. It is also on the pricier end of the spectrum, although you save 30% if you subscribe to Strava’s coffee club. This might not be everyone’s cup of joe, but it will be a great fit if you’re looking for the best decaf CBD coffee.
More features: no prescription needed, full-spectrum NANO CBD extract
These are Nano CBD infused K-Cups with Honduran Arabica coffee beans. The coffee beans are sourced responsibly and are infused with CBD using a natural process. CBD coffee has a strong flavor.
NakedCBD has any CBD product you may want, including gummies, vapes, and oils. What makes this product special is that you don’t have to go out of your way to add CBD to your daily routine. Instead of having to add an extra step of adding oil to something or taking a daily gummy, you just drink your coffee like you usually would.
Why is it special?
We always love K-Cups because they are so convenient and start your morning off right. Just pop in the cup and go do other things, and by the time you're done, your coffee will be hot and ready for you. This CBD coffee has CBD that is ten times more bioavailable than oil. The coffee goes through a blind-roasting process which really brings out the flavors. The CBD extract is of the highest quality because the company specializes in CBD products, not coffee.
What are the flaws?
Although K-Cups are convenient, some flavor is always lost when using a K-Cup. It is a tradeoff that you have to decide if you are willing to make or not. Also, it is unclear how much CBD is in the coffee. If you are trying to take a specific amount of CBD each day, it is impossible to dose it out with this coffee. Regardless, it had a good relaxing effect on us, and we enjoyed drinking this CBD coffee.
More features: American-grown hemp, independent lab tested, proprietary formula
This is a 12oz bag of hemp flower coffee. The coffee is from the mountains of Colombia, and the hemp is grown in America. This CBD coffee has deep nutty flavors of caramel and chocolate. It is made in small batches.
Green Roads CBD specializes in CBD and sells an assortment of CBD products- oils, gummies, topicals, capsules, spa products, chocolate, and coffee. What makes this product special is that it uses all the CBD knowledge that a CBD-specialized company has and puts it into a cup of coffee. Having CBD in your coffee takes out the extra step of taking a capsule or using a topical.
Why did it make our list?
The high quality of the CBD stuck out to us and was undeniable. We didn't experience any unwanted side effects such as sleepiness or drowsiness, but it wasn't weak either and made us fully relaxed. It had the perfect ratio of CBD relaxation to caffeine energy out of any of the cups we tried. The coffee is no joke either. It comes from award-winning Colombian mountains, and traditional harvesting methods are used.
What is not ideal about it?
The amount of CBD per bag varies in each batch, so it's unpredictable how much CBD you're buying. However, the CBD profile is printed on each bag, so you'll know once you get the back. You just won't know when you're ordering it. The medium roast works well with these flavors, but you might prefer a lighter or darker roast. Lastly, while whole beans are good at preserving flavor, they do add an extra step to your morning routine.
More features: USDA-certified organic hemp protein, fair-trade, low in acid, freshly roasted
This World’s First Organic Hemp Coffee is Fair Trade, non-GMO, and USDA organic certified. It is a blend of coffee from Central and South America with hemp protein powder grown in the United States. It is CBD-free. It has a nutty flavor and includes many health benefits, just like omega acids and proteins.
This product is perfect for people who are looking to have the protein and omegas of hemp in an easy way! With this hemp coffee, you don’t have to add an extra step to your day to get all the health benefits of hemp. All you have to do is drink your coffee. And you won’t get any unwanted effects from CBD.
What are our favorite features?
We were so excited to get all of the health benefits of hemp in something as simple as a cup of coffee! Hemp has all nine essential amino acids. It also contains rare omega proteins. Each bag even contains 17g of plant protein and over 25% of the recommended amount of nine minerals and vitamins! If you’re looking to improve your health in an easy, simple way, just switch out your normal cup of coffee for this hemp coffee.
What could be better?
One thing we were on the fence about is that this coffee comes ground already, with only one grind option (medium). Different brewing methods require different grinds, and it would have been nice to be able to pick your grind. Also, coffee that is already ground loses some of its flavors. We had coffee jitters because there was no CBD to balance out the caffeine. But we did feel a difference in our physical health after drinking this hemp coffee!
Things to Consider
There is so much to consider when looking to buy CBD coffee! From World’s First Organic Hemp Coffee by Artizan Roasters, which boasts the health benefits of hemp, to CBD NANO Coffee K-Cup Single Serve Pod, which lets you just pop in the cup with ease, there is so much to consider. We have looked at all different types of roasts, bean origin, CBD contents, caffeinated, decaf, and everything in between. Our buying guide will help you decide what is important to you when buying your first bag of CBD coffee.
What is CBD Coffee?
CBD coffee is coffee that has CBD infused into its beans. You can also add CBD oil to your own cup of coffee, but it is much better to buy a cup that is professionally catered. CBD
Trusted SourceCannabidiol (CBD) — what we know and what we don’t - Harvard HealthCBD is readily obtainable in most parts of the United States, though its exact legal status is in flux. All 50 states have laws legalizing CBD with varying degrees of restriction, and while the federal government still considers CBD in the same class as marijuana, it doesn’t habitually enforce against it. In December 2015, the FDA eased the regulatory requirements to allow researchers to conduct CBD trials. Currently, many people obtain CBD online without a medical cannabis license.
stands for the term cannabidiol. It is the second active ingredient in marijuana. It comes from hemp plants. It doesn’t make you high, but it is very relaxing and used to aid anxiety and sleep. It is a legal substance, and you don’t need a medical marijuana card to get CBD.
When you combine the effects of coffee, which contains caffeine, with CBD, you get a drink that will wake you up and keep you alert while keeping your anxiety low.
There are many things to consider when buying the best CBD coffee. One major thing to consider is where the beans come from. The origin of your beans is the very first step in determining what flavor your CBD coffee will have. Beans can also be sourced in a multitude of sustainable or ethical ways. Your coffee may come in beans or pre-ground. Different grinds work best for different brewing methods because the grind affects how quickly the water moves through the coffee. The roast of the coffee determines the flavor and caffeine content and typically comes in dark, medium, or light. There are many different flavors of coffee like rich, chocolatey, floral, citrusy, sour, and sweet.
It is important to think about the CBD content per bag and per cup when buying CBD coffee. CBD affects everyone to different degrees, and it may take a little experimenting to find the right amount for you.
The quality and origin of your coffee beans are what creates a delicious cup of coffee, along with how it is roasted and brewed. But without good coffee beans, no amount of roasting or brewing can produce an amazing taste. Coffee can be sustainably sourced, Fair Trade certified, USDA Organic certified, or come from a co-op. These are all ideal because you want to know that your coffee is ethical. Coffee is the single most used stimulant in the entire world.
Willie’s Remedy Hemp-Infused Medium Roast Blend Coffee is a blend of Fair Trade certified Nicaraguan coffee that comes from a woman-focused co-op and Colombian coffee that comes from another co-op. This makes it extremely ethically sourced coffee.
The grind on your coffee is very important. It can be fine, medium, or rough. Different brewing methods need different types of grinds because the grind determines how quickly the water drips through the coffee and the surface area of the coffee.
Coffee can also come whole-bean or pre-ground. Pre-ground coffee loses some of its flavors.
The roast of the coffee determines the intensity of the coffee’s flavor, as well as the caffeine content. Darker roasts tend to have a richer, more intense flavor, whereas lighter roasts are less intense. Dark roasts have less caffeine by scoop but more by weight because their beans are bigger. Each bean contains the same amount of caffeine, so if you are scooping the beans, you will get fewer dark roast beans because they are bigger, so there will be less caffeine. The opposite is true for weighing the beans; it will take more beans to reach the same weight.
Coffee flavor first comes from the origin of coffee. Then it is affected by how it is roasted. Lastly, it is affected by the brewing method. Brewing methods like pour-overs or using a Chemex get the most nuanced coffee flavors. Flavors can be sweet, sour, floral, chocolatey, nutty, buttery, and more.
If you’re used to drinking bad coffee, you might think there’s only one flavor. But when you start drinking quality coffee, you’ll learn there are a lot of flavors to explore.
The CBD content of your CBD coffee determines how relaxed you will feel after you drink your cup of coffee. Each person reacts to CBD differently. If you consume too much CBD, you will become groggy and sleepy, which defeats the point of drinking caffeinated coffee. But if you don’t have enough CBD in your coffee, it won’t fully offset the negative effects of coffee like jitters and anxiety. It’s also important to take into consideration the size of the bag and how many cups each bag will produce, and then do the math of how much CBD will be in each cup.
Yes, it is safe to drink CBD coffee. There are actually many health benefits to CBD.

About 400mg of caffeine is the highest recommended dose per day for adults, which is about four cups of coffee. More than that and you will probably get a headache, have a hard time sleeping, increased heartbeat, and anxiety. But since it’s CBD coffee and not just regular coffee, you also have to factor in the CBD. There is no known limit on how much CBD is safe to intake. However, above a certain amount might make you too sleepy. So, you should drink four or fewer cups of CBD coffee while considering the effects of both caffeine and CBD.
No, CBD coffee is not the same as regular coffee with added CBD oil. CBD coffee is made with a special roasting process in which a precise amount of CBD is infused with the beans so that you will get the right amount of CBD in each cup. It is also very bioavailable in this form. It doesn’t make your coffee oily. It is completely integrated. However, adding CBD oil to your coffee will not mix in; it will just sit on the top of your coffee and have an unpleasant taste. It is also harder to measure specific amounts of CBD with a dropper.
Our best CBD coffee review included eight of the best CBD coffees, but three stood out the most. Our Editor’s Choice is Willie’s Remedy Hemp Infused Medium Roast Blend Coffee. It is a medium roast blend made of Nicaraguan and Colombian coffee. Both are sourced from ethical co-ops. It has a chocolatey orange taste. Our Premium Pick is Strava Dark Roast CBD Coffee. It tastes like marshmallows and cocoa. It has 20mg CBD per cup, which is a high serving. The flavors are strong because it is a dark roast. Our Best Value is Buddha Beans Three Coffee Flight. This is a sampler of Colombian, Mexican, and Ethiopian coffees that lets you try all three in small bags. All of the coffee in the sampler is sustainably sourced. Out of all of the best CBD coffees that we reviewed, these three are the shining stars.
